Bahama Mama Recipe
Bahama Mama is a fruity and tropical cocktail combining the flavors of rum, pineapple, orange, and grenadine. It’s perfect for a beach getaway or any summertime gathering. Here’s a simple recipe to make a Bahama Mama:
1 oz (30 ml) light rum
1 oz (30 ml) dark rum
1 oz (30 ml) coconut rum
2 oz (60 ml) pineapple juice
2 oz (60 ml) orange juice
1/2 oz (15 ml) grenadine
Ice cubes
Orange slice and maraschino cherry for garnish (optional)
Instructions:
Fill a cocktail shaker with ice.
Add the light rum, dark rum, coconut rum, pineapple juice, and orange juice to the shaker.
Shake the mixture vigorously for 10-15 seconds to combine and chill the ingredients.
Strain the cocktail into a large glass filled with ice (you can use a highball, Collins, or hurricane glass).
Slowly pour the grenadine over the drink. It will sink to the bottom, creating a beautiful layered effect.
Gently stir the cocktail to mix the ingredients, or leave the layers intact for a more visually appealing drink.
Garnish with an orange slice and a maraschino cherry on a cocktail pick, if desired.
Serve immediately with a straw, and enjoy your Bahama Mama!
Note: Feel free to adjust the pineapple and orange juice ratios according to your taste preferences. If you like a sweeter drink, you can increase the amount of grenadine. If you prefer a more tart flavor, add a squeeze of lime juice to the mix.
