Four ingredients. One Crockpot. Almost no work. This Crockpot Buffalo Chicken is creamy, cheesy, a little spicy and ridiculously easy to make.

Dump everything into the slow cooker, walk away, shred the chicken when it’s done and suddenly you’ve got the filling for sandwiches, wraps, quesadillas, loaded potatoes and more. Basically, your Crockpot does most of the work while you take the credit. That’s a system we can support. 😂

🌶️ Just 4 Ingredients

Here’s what you need:

  • 2 lbs boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 1 cup buffalo wing sauce
  • 1 packet ranch seasoning mix
  • 8 oz cream cheese, cubed

That’s it.

🔥 DOOZY TIP

Buffalo sauces vary quite a bit in heat. If you’re not sure how spicy you want it, start with a milder buffalo sauce. You can always add more heat later. Because removing hot sauce from chicken is, scientifically speaking, rather difficult.

🍗 How to Make Crockpot Buffalo Chicken

1. Dump It In

Place the chicken breasts in the bottom of your slow cooker. Pour the buffalo sauce over the chicken, sprinkle in the ranch seasoning and place the cream cheese on top. Don’t even bother mixing it yet. Put the lid on. Your contribution to dinner is already mostly complete. 😂

If you’re looking for a good slow cooker, this is a natural spot for our Favorite Crockpots & Slow Cookers

2. Let the Crockpot Do Its Thing

Cook until the chicken reaches 165°F internally and is tender enough to shred easily. Depending on your slow cooker and the size of the chicken breasts, start checking around:

LOW: 4–6 hours
HIGH: 2–3 hours

Chicken breasts can dry out when they’re cooked much longer than necessary, so temperature and tenderness are better guides than blindly trusting the clock.

A simple instant-read meat thermometer makes checking doneness ridiculously easy and is useful for far more than this recipe.

3. Shred & Mix

Once the chicken is cooked, shred it directly in the Crockpot using two forks. Then stir everything together until the chicken is coated in that creamy buffalo sauce. And now things are looking considerably more interesting. 🤤 If you make shredded chicken regularly, meat shredding claws can make quick work of a big batch, although two perfectly ordinary forks work just fine. We’re not requiring specialized chicken equipment to participate.

🥪 Now…What Do You Do With It?

This is where this recipe really earns its keep.

Pile your Buffalo Chicken onto:

🥪 Toasted sandwich rolls
🌯 Wraps
🧀 Quesadillas
🥔 Baked potatoes
🥬 Lettuce wraps
🍚 Rice bowls

Or just grab some tortilla chips and start scooping.

Our pick?

🔥 Buffalo Chicken Sandwiches

Toast a roll, pile the chicken high and add a little shredded cheddar or Monterey Jack. Want some crunch? Add shredded lettuce or coleslaw. Want even more buffalo flavor? Drizzle a little extra sauce over the top. Want blue cheese? Go nuts. We’re not getting involved in the ranch-versus-blue-cheese war. Humanity has enough problems.

🧀 Make It Your Own

The four-ingredient version is fantastic by itself, but there are plenty of easy upgrades.

Try adding:

🌶️ Jalapeños for more heat
🧀 Shredded cheddar for extra cheesiness
🥓 Crumbled bacon because bacon rarely makes things worse
🧅 Green onions for a fresh finish
🥑 Avocado in wraps or bowls
🥕 Celery and carrots on the side for the full buffalo-wing experience

You can also adjust the amount of buffalo sauce after shredding if you want it hotter or saucier.

🧊 Got Leftovers?

This is one recipe where leftovers are actually a good thing. Store the chicken in an airtight container in the refrigerator for 3–4 days. Reheat only what you need in the microwave or gently on the stovetop, adding a splash of buffalo sauce if the mixture needs loosening. And tomorrow’s lunch is already handled. Past You finally did something nice for Future You.

❤️ Why We Love This Recipe

This is exactly what DOOZY DELISH is about. You don’t need twelve ingredients. You don’t need advanced cooking skills. And you definitely don’t need to spend your entire afternoon standing over the stove. Dump. Cook. Shred. Eat. Four ingredients can turn into sandwiches tonight, quesadillas tomorrow and loaded potatoes after that. Simple food. Seriously good.
